My new book release

It's been a busy year in all sorts of ways, but it's an absolute pleasure to introduce my new book. I'm one of the editors, and much of the content is based on practical advice and guidance about doing qualitive research, from me and Daniel.
Like the online course that I designed for Quirkos, it's divided into six sections that are designed to be read in any order that you decide is appropriate for you. Perfect for dipping in and out of as the need arises, after-all you might be nearer the end of your project and finally realise that you'd like to understand your options around analysis.
Book Sections
Epistemology and meta-issues
Design and plan
Gather data
Manage and handle data
Analyse and transform data
Write and report
It's a great starting point for learning or teaching about how to do qualitative research as it is non-prescriptive. We are clear about our own ideological positions (which differ between all of the editors) but we present options, considerations and guidance for the researcher to consider what is best for their context. I'm very proud of this approach because this builds confidence for you, the researcher, that it is your project and you understand the decisions and choices that you have made. This builds more rigorous and trustworthy qualitative research.
Read a little to get you started, or read and return over the course of project as you move between your concerns around theories, ethics, gathering your data, or how to analyse it once you've got it.
You can buy a copy of the book from Foyles online.
Thanks to my fellow editors, Jess and Daniel, and all of the contributers: (In order of appearance) Mónica Sánchez Hernandéz, Helen Kara, Anuja Cabraal.
